The Friends of Abingdon are delighted to present this year’s Music for A Summer Evening concert, featuring Early Music In an appropriate medieval setting – with Prosecco and strawberries
Ethereal, enigmatic and exhilarating – renaissance miniature masterpieces. A rare chance to hear 16th century dances, divisions and instrumental settings played on a variety of early viols and lute by distinguished artists Alison Crum and Roy Marks. The Unicorn Theatre is part of the atmospheric, medieval remains of Abingdon Abbey. It is a ‘homecoming concert’ for Roy Marks, the internationally known lute and viol player, who spent his early years in Abingdon on Thames.
An afternoon session, at 4.30 pm, will be arranged for musicians to experience the instruments.
Tickets for the concert are £15.00 to include a programme and prosecco and strawberries on the lawn (weather permitting) during the interval.
